OOTD: Nap or Out for the Night?

I went down for a nap today at 7pm because I was tired from soccer and hanging out with some friends.  I thought I'd just rest up before catching up on some work that I had to do.  That was the plan anyway.  A plan ruined when I woke up at midnight.  Now, would you consider that a nap or just going to bed for the night?  I'm going to go with nap because I got up.

Normally at that point I would just go back to sleep, but I hadn't eaten dinner and I was starving!  Er, I mean, I got up because I hadn't blogged.  No, it really was just because I was hungry.

Top: Anthropologie Tambour Blouse
Skirt: J Crew
Shoes: J Crew Abby Toe Cap Flats

Floreat makes the best tops.  I love the Tambour Blouse and the way it nips in with all its little details.  The buttons in the front are functional!  It's awesome.

Ok, I'm going to bed for real now.  Thanks for stopping by, see ya tomorrow.

Double OOTDs: Night and Day

Yesterday was pretty ridiculously busy, so forgive me for not posting.  As a reward, you get TWO outfits today.  It was a work hard play hard kind of day -- I spent the better part of the day working (and I was supposed to have the day off, but whatever) and also had two different groups of ladies that I had plans with.

My friends and I had bought a deal back in January for a Caribbean scrub and Hot Stone massage for super cheap, but with all our busy schedules hadn't had time to schedule a time for all three of us to go.  We finally found a slot that worked for all of us yesterday, so I'd be darned if I didn't make it.  Unfortunately, work just happened to get really crazy with meetings and presentations, so it took a lot of creative scheduling to make it work -- kind of deters from the point of a relaxing experience, but it actually turned out fine.

Outfit Details
Cardigan: J Crew Katelyn Ruffle Cardigan
Dress: Tucker for Target Button Front Dress
Belt: Anthropologie Snakebite Belt
Shoes: Target Merona Makana Cutout Sliver Wedges (on sale here!)

I seriously can't seem to leave a Target without wanting to buy at least one pair of shoes.  It drives me nuts!  It's so unnecessary, but all the pairs are usually reasonably priced and cute, so I can't help myself.  Especially if there's a sale.  My only problem is that the materials they tend to use sometimes make my feet sweaty...because you totally needed to know that.
After the spa, I went back to work (I know, I know, but I had to!) and then raced home to get ready to meet another group of ladies in San Francisco for dinner and a wine bar.  Yay wine!

Outfit Details
Top: Anthropologie Cedar Chest Blouse
Shorts: The Limited Drew Double Button Shorts
Belt: Anthropologie
Shoes: Anthropologie Open Space Wedges
Necklace: Anthropologie Tied With a Ribbon Necklace

We went to Park Chow, which had absolutely fantastic dessert -- ginger cake and pumpkin ice cream anyone? -- followed by a few glasses of wine at Inner Fog.  Park Chow is the kind of set up that looks like someone's house -- I seriously wanted to kick people out and live there myself.  Inner Fog is a play on words having to do with the San Francisco fog and the probably the fog that occurs in your mind when you're drinking.  I'm not smart, btw, someone had to explain that to me :P.  I'm so glad it's getting warmer so I can start wearing shorts again!

Well, there's your double outfit post.  I'm going to a wedding shower today, so that's going to be fun and exciting.  Talk to you all later! Thanks for stopping by :).

OOTD: Pretty in Red

I told my BF to title this blog post and this is what he came up with.  I believe the movie was Pretty in Pink, but ya know.  I do like a good red though and a red cardigan was a big gap in my wardrobe -- thank YOU Delicate Drafts cardi.  It was a little dreary out today, and I thing that the red pops against the darkness of the rest of my outfit.

This photo shoot had to happen twice because, genius that I am, I forgot to take manual focus off the first 15 pictures I took.  I actually went back in, downloaded the pictures, and THEN figured out that all my pictures were blurry.  Mostly because I'm a genius.

Off to have another one of those infamous work parties.  So amazing! (not.)  I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend.  Thanks for stopping by, see ya tomorrow.

Spring 2011 Anthro Wish List

Let's take a look at what's on my Anthropologie wishlist this season...

This would be amazing with shorts, leggings and all sorts of shoes.  The cowl neck detail is a nice touch.

Skylark Blouse, $88

I love the simplicity of this top.  It could stand alone in the summer and be layered under all sorts of things in the cooler seasons.  Totally looks slimming, don't you think?

This skirt just looks like summer!  You get the coverage, the pinstripes, the fresh look and the neat creasing that comes with Eva Franco offerings.

Anthro has really turned me on to shirt dresses.  They're so easy to wear alone, as a "shirt", belted, dressed up, dressed down, whatever!  And green plaid?  Sign me up!

Anadyomene Cardigan, $88

I love a good short sleeve cardigan, and this teal so great.  The sweet heart collar is just a nice touch along with all the piping.

Hanging Gardens Cardigan, $118

The greenness of this with the grey is totally me and I really just want to get my hands on this on sale.

Spectator Espadrilles, $138

I saw these in the San Francisco Anthropologie a few months ago and I LOVE these.  They make you're feet look tiny and I could totally rock these after summer with the right tights.

Who knows if I'll really spring for all these, but a girl can dream, can't she?  What are you looking at this season?

OOTD: Easter Eggs Anyone?

This outfit reminds me of Easter Eggs.  It's probably all the pastels together in one place.  Probably.  Yes, that's the ticket.  I fell for the Impressionist's Chemise at Anthro the season it came out, so when it went on sale, I absolutely had to pick it up.  These last few weeks at Anthro have really been cleaning me out.  I picked up the aforementioned chemise, the Delicate Drafts Cardigan, the Neo-Refinement Pullover, the Gust of Wind Pumps (2nd cut!), the Lapis Lazuli dress....oh my.  I may not be able to justify keeping all of them, but I've come up empty for so many sale cycles that maybe I can keep them all? Haha.  Yeah, probably not.

Cardigan: Anthropologie Cattleya Cardigan
Dress: Anthropologie Impressionists Chemise
Shoes: Target Taki Mary Janes
Necklace: Anthropologie
Belt: Amthropologie

I've really been into pattern matching lately.  This outfit isn't something I would've put together 6 months ago, but an open mind really opens up your wardrobe.  I recommend trying it if you haven't already -- you won't get as many stares as you think you will, I promise.

One of the things I love about Anthro is that their chemises are so pretty and sturdy!  I don't even think twice about wearing them as dresses.  This is especially true for someone of my height, where the hems still hit reasonable lengths just above the knee.  Plus, cheaper price point!  It's like buying clothes in the kids section except the fit is still for a woman.  It's a win win :).

Thanks for stopping by, see ya tomorrow!

EBEW: Drapes

Given my height, a whopping 5'0", it's taken me a long time to come around to a lot of things.  Maxi dresses and skirts; drapey, long material -- anything that could potentially make me look shorter.  I tend to go for more streamlined silhouettes in an attempt to make myself look taller.  This got especially important to me after the freshman 15 and other such aftermath.  But, you really just can't beat the maxi look sometimes -- it's comfy, surprisingly summery, and is a neat change of pace once and a while.  And this time, at least there is an army of other bloggers to do it with me!  Thanks Everybody, Everywear!

Yes, I'm wearing the Neo Refinement Pullover again.  So? Cost per wear people! Cost per...wash? Shhh....

Outfit Details
Top: Anthropologie Neo Refinement Pullover
Skirt: Bought in Italy (2003)
Belt: Vintage
Shoes: Anthropologie Open Space Wedges

I got this skirt when I lived in Pisa, Italy in 2003.  I kept it for years and years and years and never wore it, but couldn't bear to throw away my souvenir while it still fit.  Then I pulled it out one day after I moved the Bay Area, and now it's in my regular wardrobe rotation?  Funny how that works huh?  I love the uniqueness of the opening in front.

Well, that's all for now folks!  Thanks for stopping by, see ya tomorrow!

Maxi Skirt/Dress | Everybody, Everywear

OOTD: Rugby Stripes & Ruffles

Today my BF and I walked 2.5 miles to get some Chipotle and back.  I was wearing the same boots as I am in these pictures and, in retrospect, I probably should have picked more comfortable shoes.  Considering only my heels hurt though, it's all gravy.  Do you ever notice that food tastes 1000x better after you've exerted yourself physically?  I know it's just walking and all, but man, did those nachos taste good.  We also made sure to engage our abs on the way home.  You totally want to be our friends -- we're so awesome.

Outfit Details
Cardigan: LOFT Stripe Cardigan
Top: Tahari Tee with Studded Trim
Pants: Gap
Boots: Anthropologie Pebbled and Primped Boots
Scarf: Old Navy

BF is now banned from taking pictures from the door frame for a while.  The angle makes me look short!

Tomorrow is the real Everybody, Everywear Maxi skirt day (fooled you last week!  So good I almost fooled myself! :P)  Meet you there, if you dare.

Thanks for stopping by, see ya tomorrow!
