The blazing, humid Chicago heat is a far cry from the temperate climate of the Pacific Northwest.  The heat drive me to light silk dresses paired with cute flats made for walking.  And what better dress to take to an urban jungle than one printed with zebras, tigers and giraffes? (Oh my!)

On the plus side? Ice cold beer tastes all the sweeter in that kind of weather.  And you can bet that I was taking advantage of that.

January on Instagram

Yes, yes, I know it's already mid-February.  But whatever!  Here's what was on the tolookforstyle Instagram in January.

//Old Navy Owl Scarf, Michael Kors Leather Jacket, Anthropologie hoodie //Engaged!
//Needed caffeine and something cold to drink //J Crew tartan skirt on sale!
//Outfit with tartan skirt //Tahoe sparkles
//Lying in the snow at Tahoe Northstar //Best view evar

Yes, I got engaged over the holidays.  Yes, I'm super excited!  I guess there's wedding posts in this blog's future.

How was your January?  Cold?

Friends, I am having quite the yellow, green and brown streak -- er, with clothes that is.  (Whoa...that was not intentional.  If you don't get it...don't worry about it). Anyway, kelly green and mustard reminds me of bright, citrus-y lemons and limes, which reminds me of summer and fun outdoors-y days.

I also love this top because it's basically a fabulous girl who had no time to get herself fixed up in the morning (or alternatively, spent hours making her self look like she spent no time fixing her self up in the morning.  Defeats the purpose, really -- DON'T DO THAT!).   And she has hipster glasses.  It just makes me feel all warm and San Franciscan inside.

Any fun prints you love on articles of clothing you own?  Share in the comments!

OOTD: New Year, New Clothes, New Stories

Hey there everyone!  Let me be the next in line to wish you a Happy New Year (unless you're tired of that, then let's just move along, shall we?).

Last December was pretty eventful, mostly as BF and I went on a long Christmas holiday in Europe.  So, as it tends to happen, we spent the first 2 weeks frantically trying to close up any day to day loose ends and the last 2 weeks blissfully unaware of responsibilities.

I will definitely be sharing pictures from my trip, but I thought it appropriate to kick off the new year with an outfit post.  This being a fashion blog and all...

I picked up some super fun things from one of the London Top Shop location -- but we'll talk about that another time.  This was a day before going to work outfit that was fun and comfy at the same time.  And I am a wedge sneaker convert, let me tell you!  Height and comfort is just so hard to come by.

Happy New Year and thanks for stopping by!

OOTD: Loafing

This is one of those outfits I throw on after a long night that involves stretchy pants, fashion-y flats and dry shampoo'ed hair.  I like to think dry shampoo gives me sexy bedhead, but it's entirely possible that I look like a hot mess.  I'll just say that the look is very "in".  Having a personal style blog gives me the legitimacy to say that right?  ...Right.

I picked up these amazing loafers on sale at Old Navy.  They were green (my favorite), snakeskin (another highly desirable fake! pattern) and a price that just couldn't be beat.  So what if they were half a size too big?  They're flats anyway, so it's not like it's a walking hazard.

Is anyone else confused that June is half over?  Where has the time gone?

Thanks for stopping by!

It's been a busy weekend and I'm still reeling from the craziness, so I apologize for the short post today.  This is a comfy outfit for running errands that incorporates an amazing amount of color pop.  I picked up the sweater at a local Crossroads because it reminded me of this Forever21 sweater I saw on a mannequin 2-3 years ago that I completely missed up on.  I know -- I totally traded up with this Banana Republic look alike.  Win!

I have a post coming up on Lotus Premium Denim soon, but if you like how these jeans look, you should totally check them out!  The inseam is perfect for a shortie like me!  No hemming required :).
