This is my "business wear because I don't want to wear a suit" outfit.  I had a big presentation to give at work to the leadership team that morning and I was trying to be business-y, but not stuffy.  I think I achieved my goal! I picked up this amazing (petite sized!) dress from Banana Republic because it look super DVF-ey and I couldn't help myself.  I'm so glad that I did!  It's an amazing because it looks pulled together, but satisfies my constant need for patterns and prints.  AND I still get to wear a scarf with a small print on it that doesn't interfere with the dress's big one.  Win all around!

What do you wear for business wear as alternatives for suits?

You know, I am in LOVE with my wedge sneakers.  They make me taller, they're comfy AND they have sparkles, snakeskin (faux, duh) and suede.  3 S's!  I mean, come on, how could that NOT be awesome?

Admittedly, this outfit was supposed to be fairly easy and it did look that way.  But it seems that when you roll up boyfriend jeans and rely on them being tight on the leg to stay up, you just spend all your time fixing them.  So, probably never again, but I do think it photographs nicely.

Have you ever had an outfit you liked but was just too much trouble to wear again?

I was really feeling the blue today.  As a kid, I always loved things that were blue flavored.  What was blue flavor anyway?  A cocktail of food dye, sugar and a nebulous mix of other artificial flavors?  So amazingly tasty.

Travel Report: Harry Potter WB Studio Tour

As I alluded to in my last post, we went to Europe for 15 days in December.  It was so amazing -- I haven't been able to take an overseas trip in 5 years!  After moving to California, my traveling money was redirected to trips home to Chicago, so this is been a long time coming.

First stop!  The Harry Potter WB Studio Tour.  We are MAJOR fans of the Harry Potter series both in book and move form.  This was a fan dream come true.  Unfortunately, we only had an hour and half there due to delays in finding my bag after landing in London and our schedule train to Paris that night.  Super sad face.  But it was still absolutely worth it. Abso-freaking-lutely.

OOTD: New Year, New Clothes, New Stories

Hey there everyone!  Let me be the next in line to wish you a Happy New Year (unless you're tired of that, then let's just move along, shall we?).

Last December was pretty eventful, mostly as BF and I went on a long Christmas holiday in Europe.  So, as it tends to happen, we spent the first 2 weeks frantically trying to close up any day to day loose ends and the last 2 weeks blissfully unaware of responsibilities.

I will definitely be sharing pictures from my trip, but I thought it appropriate to kick off the new year with an outfit post.  This being a fashion blog and all...

I picked up some super fun things from one of the London Top Shop location -- but we'll talk about that another time.  This was a day before going to work outfit that was fun and comfy at the same time.  And I am a wedge sneaker convert, let me tell you!  Height and comfort is just so hard to come by.

Happy New Year and thanks for stopping by!
