OOTD: Of Thrifting and Hanging Pants

I've noticed a pretty drastic change in the way I shop because of the spending goals I set for myself back in November.  Much less purchasing of Anthropologie items (though don't worry Anthro, I still love you!) and a lot more hanging out in thrift stores, stalking sales, having restraint (so hard!) and what not.  In fact, the majority of the outfit below is thrifted!  And really, I don't think the quality of outfits have gone down, so that's certainly a real-life lesson -- all things don't need to be new in order to look fabulous. Oh yes, and I'm back to doing some crazy pattern matching.  Really, who puts paisley and paisley next to each other?

Now for the hanging pants reference.  Anyone see that pair of blue jeans hanging behind me in the first picture?  Yeaaaah, that was there when I got there.  And they were there for days after.  Such are the perils of taking pictures near the railroad tracks I guess.

So! Does this outfit work?  Yay? Nay? Share in the comments!

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. I must spend too much time on the internet- no amount of pattern mixing seems to much...besides, the blazer is a good grounding piece...

  2. LOL. I feel the same -- I just had that moment where I looked at my outfit as a "normal" person would. Then I got over it.

  3. Thrifting can be better than buying new sometimes though.. you definitely find more unique pieces!

  4. I totally agree! And it's less likely someone else will have it, which is pretty awesome in its own right.
